New form of Exercise

I discovered this exercise when I was crunched for time at the gym one day.

I'm going to trial this and I know what I'm doing.

So the goal of weight lifting is muscle failure but most people even when doing 4-5 sets never reach failure and also don't hold at the top for 2 seconds, and rest too long at the bottom and also don't go to failure on the last set anyway, so they never make gains or at most make very small gains. The goal is to gain 1 lb of muscle per week. Even though this may only be possible with steroids it's better to do things right and not waste time in the gym then be like I was a while back going to the gym every day for 2 years with absolutely no gains! Until I finally decided to research it and do it right and actually make progress.

Now about 2 years after that point and much wiser, I discovered lots of new things and exercise is easy and fun! And now I can set a goal and actually reach it within the time I predict.

In the body for life program,(Get the BOOK seriously!) which is the fastest, easiest, healthiest, most fun, and most productive by the way of any exercise plan without steroids that I have ever heard of, you gain one weight lifting level per month usually and lose fat at the same time and is 60% diet 40% exercise. I know of other plans like Arnolds plan and also read exercise magazines regularly which have bad plans that don't work or are dangerous usually, but range from total cardio to complete power lifting strategies. I also know so many exercises that now I do lots that no one has heard of or done, to work every muscle group and not just the obvious ones, for a well rounded exercise routine.

But this is not the body for life program.

I don't know yet if my new exercise routine will build predominantly fast twitch muscle fibers or slow twitch muscle fibers or both, and it would require some professional testing. But I'll trial it and see what I notice.

So the new exercise routine is as follows:

Form 1:

Weights:

Day 1 Monday: Upper body
1st set is 1 or more chest exercises. Because the tris and bis aren't tired yet.
2nd set is 1 or more shoulder exercises. I do front, side, and rear because everybody likes good shoulders and they're harder to build.
3rd set is 1 or more back exercises
4th set is 1 or more tricep exercises
5th set is 1 or more bicep exercises. Because easy.

Day 2 Wednesday:Lower body
1st set is 1 or more ab exercises. Because I like energy to do many ab exercises.
2nd set is 1 or more quad exercises
3rd set is 1 or more ham string exercises
4th set is 1 or more calf excercises. Because easy.

Day 3 Friday: Upper body

Day 1 week 2 Monday: Lower body
Day 2 week 2 Wed: Upper body
Day 3 week 2 Fri: Lower body

Cardio:

Do 1 minute sprints then rest for at least 1 minute between sprints and do 5-6 of these in a row as (HIIT) High intensity interval training. Either do these on the same day or on the days in between weight lifting days.

How to do sets:

Each set you do whatever weight you can do 12 reps of then instantly go to one weight lower and do as many as you can then instantly go another weight lower and do as many as you can, do this one more time, or more, then do what's called isotension and hold against a high weight or immovable object for at least a minute. You have now reached failure no matter what and have only done one set. A sure way to gain muscle.

This set should take roughly 5 minutes. So if you do 5 muscle groups in one day it should only take 25 minutes to finish exercising for the day. But wait... Look at the next form of this exercise and see how this may be improved.

Bare in mind that many exercises focus on many muscle groups at the same time so I plan on finding the exercises that do multiple muscle groups and listing them as the best to do to save time and may actually combine the 1st and 4th set on day 1 as a bench press or combine the 1st and 5th set on day 1 as the pectoral fly and cut the exercise time for the day in half, if you like it that way.

Cardio incorporated into weights: So it's even faster and easier

Day 1 week 1: Any day
1st set is 1 or more chest exercises. Because the tris and bis aren't tired yet.
2nd set is 1 or more shoulder exercises, I do front, side, and rear because everybody likes good shoulders, and they're harder to build.
3rd set is 1 or more back exercises
4th set is 1 or more tricep exercises
5th set is 1 or more bicep exercises. Because easy.
lower body next because harder...
6th set is 1 or more ab exercises. Because I like energy to do many ab exercises.
7th set is 1 or more quad exercises
8th set is 1 or more ham string exercises
9th set is 1 or more calf excercises. Because easy.

Day 2 week 1: 2-3 days later
Same thing but do different exercises for the same muscle group
Instead of bench press or pec fly do the dip.
Instead of pull downs or T-bar for back do rows,
Instead of preacher curls for the bicep do reverse preacher curls.
Instead of kick backs for the tricep do tricep rope pulldowns,
Instead of front raises do upright barbell row or chin row
and so on for lower body...

Day 1 week 2: Repeat

Day 2 week 2: Repeat

At 5 minutes per set and maybe 15 minutes of setting up equipment it should take only 1 hour a day for the minimum or 2 hours a day for a really advanced work out. Start out slow and work way up to advanced. Do as much as you can in one day, then do more the next day.

So in effect you are doing 2 days of exercise a week for maximum muscle growth without over training. And probably no chance of catabolic tissue break down if you do less than 2 sets per muscle group. Also you're combining cardio to save even more time.

How to do the sets:

Same sets as form 1 of this new exercise routine you reach failure in the same way.

But doing all the exercises at once without any break in between sets and having a drink of water only every 2 sets will get the heart rate going so this will in effect be a very good cardio work out. And you will see the sweat pouring off, so you're definitely heating up and burning calories. NO resting here!

And doing cardio on the days off will burn even more calories if you want to lose fat.

Post exercise:

Always remember after you're done exercising to drink a protein drink and creatine (with optional gluton) along with a banana, within 2 hours after exercise. This will build the muscle with the fast absorbtion protein and replenish the gluton and high glycemic carbs needed to build that muscle.

And also always remember to drink low fat milk before bed for the slow acting protein to build muscle while you sleep.

Drinking water in the morning also helps give you energy because digestion during the night uses water and dehydration makes you tired.

Also no matter what, you should research and know how to do ALL exercises in proper form for the full effect of the exercise and to never hurt yourself and not waste time in the gym. I find muscle magazines with special editions of how to work one particular muscle group are the best place for types or exercises and proper form. Just don't do their exercise plans and routines. You can read them for free at the book store and then buy the one that has the muscle group you're researching.

The only way to measure fat loss to lose exactly 1 lb of fat per week is with fat calipers. You measure body fat ratio and then subtract that from body weight to get weight of fat on body. Then you eat a high and specific amount of food per week and measure if you lost weight in that week. Then lower the calorie consumption of balanced carb and protein until you are losing 1-2 lbs of fat per week. Now you know your optimal calorie intake and your rate of metabolism.

You cannot measure how many calories you burn in a day with all the variables(it's impossible), and you also cannot measure your base metabolic rate since eating less lowers your metabolism and eating more raises it.

Eat healthy before you ever even go to the gym. Otherwise you won't ever lose fat.

Survival and Camping Essentials

If you just want to go camping or the whole world ends or just your personal world ends, this is a guide. You can be independent, and self reliant, and self sustaining, although with limited luxuries. Bums would do well to know this. But in the end this is ultimate reality. If you don't know this then you're an alien to your own planet. You can transcend reality and experience oneness with the earth at high enough levels of survival. Blackbelts are nothing compared to ultimate knowledge of survival. See: Tom Brown jr.

Water: Have a metal canteen with a metal cap so that you can put it on coals to boil and sanitize any water and the canteen. Only use coals and not flames, so that it doesn't oxidize.

Meat: Have a gun for animals, and a Hawaiian sling for fish, and a net for small things(birds drag their beaks through the water while in flight for tiny fish). In certain areas and times of year, you can have all the birds you can eat, for free, if you have a gun. Not to mention bigger animals. And get a book on animal tracking to be a better hunter.

Fruit and veggies: Native plants that grow and seed and water themselves. This is if you have lots of land to pick from and the plants and trees are already existent on the property. Get books in the nature section of the bookstore on "edible and medicinal plants" "mushrooms" "edible marine life"

Fire: Hardwood for long lasting huge fire, and soft wood in small pieces, as kindling to get it started. Also have alcohol and tinder(char cloth, or tree sap, cut a tree and wait for the sap to run) and a firesteel to start it, or a lighter to start out with, until it runs out of fuel. Page size fresnel lens for fire starting on sunny days. Have fresnel lens for daytime and firesteel for nighttime and a lighter for emergencies.

Alcohol: Good for antibacterial wound treatment along with cloth or tape bandage. Good for cleaning clothes. Good for washing hands. Good for lighter fluid and candles. Just distill the alcohol from rotten fruit juice, and a simple solar distiller.

Shelter: Stone walls, wood roof, and tarp to water proof it.

Air conditioning: Wet shirt, wind, shade

Heating: fire, proper clothing.

Light: Have 2 crank rechargeable flashlights(1 for backup) and velcro it to a .50 cent baseball hat to become a head lamp. Until the battery goes bad and you need to buy a new one.

Vehicle: Powered by ultra capacitor for any environment, and no maintenance, won't break. But remember: If you don't have a schedule to keep anymore, and you don't need to travel long distances, you don't need a vehicle. Just use legs and a paddle.

Clothes: Get artificial fibers like nylon, polyester, acrylic, so that it is non absorbant of water for easier cleaning. Then put the clothes in a bucket of soapy water and agitate it with a plunger. When you run out of soap you may need to make alcohol and just wipe down your clothes with an alcohol soaked rag, to clean them.

Cooking: On the fire or coal BBQ, or a rocket stove. Smoke your meat to preserve it, so that you don't require a fridge.

Bathroom: On a big piece of land just go outside and bury it to not smell it. Or go in a different spot every day. Grow your own TP tree of the right kinds of leaves for the job.

Shower: Use alcohol and rag.

Weather: Have an all in one barometer/hygrometer/thermometer. Or if you have a boat you need a weather radio that lets you know when to move.

Communication: If you don't feel safe without communication, get a ham radio and you'll never have to pay a phone bill and be able to talk long distance, hopefully to family or friends. This is what the police use.

Navigation: GPS is good for now, just turn it on whenever you're unsure where you are. Don't get it wet though.

Protection: Have a gun if you live in an area with large dangerous animals.

Rope tying knowledge: It's good to know how to tie knots for camping, look to "Youtube" under "Camping knots".It's good read up on most knots because you never know when they'll come in handy. The knots that will be used regularly are the snare knot, and a truckers hitch and a falconer's knot for the tarp, half hitch(Useful in many ways, easilly remembered by"around and through"), anchor bend or the two half, constrictor knot(a variation of the clove hitch exept you make one of the free ends of rope go through one of the 2 half hitches that the clovehitch is comprized of), prussik knot(fot climbing), sheet bend(for tieing 2 ropes of differing diameter's together, clove hitch, tension/taughtline hitch, Bowline(one of the most useful, and easilly remembered by first making a bite in the rope, and then:"The rabbit goes out the hole, around the tree, and then back into the hole"). Feel free to improvise when making knots, and even to invent your own knots. Also the clinch knot for fishing, or the uni knot for tying the tippet onto the leader for fly fishing, have a different leader for each type of fish. The figure 8. And the figure 8 on a bite.

Survival clip carabeener contents: File and sharpening stone, crank rechargeable flashlight, lighter with keychain holder, firesteel, good multitool/swiss army knife.
Survival backpack contents: Rope, knife, char cloth/paper(or cotton) holder and maker, backup flashlight, hat, canteen, tarp, hammock tent and straps, sleeping bag, TP, GPS, notebook, gel pen, gun, spear. And whatever extra fun devices you want.

Extra info for if you don't have the above equipment.

Remember the sacred order:

1. Shelter (sometimes can only survive hours without shelter)
   
2. Water (brain damage occurs after only a day without water)
   
3. Fire (contributes to all 3 other priorities)
   
4. Food (can easily survive 2 weeks without any food)
   

Start fire using the bow drill method. Then boil water in a log that you burned out the center of, with coals from the fire, inch by inch by burning then scraping.(should only take 2 hours). Then heat up some rocks in the fire and put them in the hollowed out log filled with water to boil the water. Also when wood is damp make feather sticks with a knife to use the dry inside.

When animals attack they go for what's in front of them first. So stick something out in front of you that you don't care if it gets bitten. For a weapon have a stick with a knife on it. But if you don't have a knife then sharpen the stick on a rock or in the fire. This will put some distance between you and the animal, and if they lunge at you then put the stick between the ground and their heart and hopefully their weight will make them impale themselves.

For shelter use the debris shelter method. The thicker you pile on the debris onto the shelter the more insulated it will be. 4 foot thick can keep you comfortable at 40 below temperatures. And 2 foot thick can keep you warm at 32 degree temps.

You can make a chair out of a cloth bag and 3 sticks.

Always dry off your clothes right away if they ever get wet. Do this with a fire and the clothes or shoes suspended above the fire with twigs or rope. You can freeze to death at 50 degree temps in the wind, if you're wet.

Learn survival navigation. Finding south with a watch between the hour hand and 12:00 in the northern hemisphere, when you have the hour hand pointing at the sun. Also if you don't have a watch you can find the east and west line on a sunny day by just putting a stick in the ground for 20 minutes or so, marking the top of the shadow with a stone at the beginning and end of the 20 minutes(This has to be done on a flat surface). Useful Layman Fact: The sun is always in the southern part of the sky, if you're in the northern hemisphere.

For rope when you have none. You can dig up the roots of trees which are everywhere. Just use a hook like tool and drag it through the ground until you run into a thick enough root then pull it out of the ground carefully to not break it. Or you can make rope out of nettle stem skins or the fiber of plants that have been crushed and pounded with a stone or stick, and then left to dry in the sun, or scrape away the mushy stuff(this is how hemp fiber is made). Some other plants are the dog bean or castor bean plants(being the strongest and doesn't decompose) or milk weed being good for cordage. But some plants are poisonous so if they make a rash then avoid them or know more about them to know how to utilize safely. You can also peal the bark off of some small trees after getting it started with a knife. To make these plant fibers into cord you want to do the twist away pull back method. But the leg roll method is faster. You can use any type of fiber or cordage and as long as it's thick enough you can hang from it.

TP: Do the arm rub test on different types of leaves to choose one that doesn't create rash.

Washing self and clothing and antibacterial ointment is all found with knowledge of medicinal plants.

Catching food can be done many ways. By making your own fish net given enough time. hobo fishing is done with just a stick or can with string around it and a fishing lure. A bow and arrow can be made quickly with a sharpened stick as the arrow and feathering on the back and a notch on the back. And a bow stick bent between the legs and string tied to each end with a simple half hitch. Refining it can come later. You can also make a Hawaiian sling if you have any kind of elastic and put a fish gig on the end. Or you can set snare traps with your animal tracking skills for squirrels or rabbits. Or deadfalls, or other traps for bugs or big animals. or trigger traps with bait for squirrels or mice. Or just have a stick to hit things or stab things with. But you may just gather food with your knowledge of edible plants and mushrooms and nuts(roast them or boil them for taste). Make a fishing lure in the shape of an oval and put bait around it.

Making a knife: Use flint knapping using a deer antler or rough thinner rock for pressure flaking and a stone for percussion flaking. And a rough stone for abrading to flatten edges.

But in the end if you ever actually feel like you are ruffing it, then that just means that you're doing things wrong. When camping or hiking or surviving, it is a choice to be cold, or wet or uncomfortable at all, because with knowledge you can avoid all of that out in the wilderness anywhere. Our greatest strength is our knowledge.

New house production method

This is a method for a structure anywhere where there is dirt.

First dig an under ground chamber, then gather clay from that dirt by separating clay and sand by mixing dirt with water, in a pit, until a mud slurry and then leaving to dry for the smallest clay particles to settle on the top.

Then on the interior of this underground chamber, you will put one solid unbroken strand of steel wool along the walls of the chamber. This may be done in sections. Then you will put a layer of clay over the steel wool.

Now hook up a high amperage power source like a car battery to both ends of the steel wool making sure that none of the steel wool is exposed to air, therefore not oxidizing and burning away.

And the final product of this is a ceramic wall that is water proof and structural. The more energy going through the wires the hotter the wires will get.

An alternative method of doing the same thing is put lots and lots of already burning hot coals into the underground chamber and then sealing in all of the heat by sealing off the chamber. The more coals put in, and the smaller the chamber, the hotter the temperature will get and the better the clay will turn into ceramic.

Later added,6/11/09: With powerful enough lasers you would be able to melt rock into magma in a constant stream. But that's decades away. For now you can use a blow torch, maybe one that uses hydrogen if you need to create the fuel from scratch because of rising energy prices in the future. In fact you may just elect to melt slabs of rock together at the seems to make them water tight, like on the roof.

Good Enough Reason Theory

The theory is that if you have a good enough reason you can do anything. It could be that you'll get paid a million dollars for whatever it is(like movie stars to prepare for a role) or it could just be to feel good about yourself if that's a good enough reason for you.

• You can get superhuman strength to rescue yourself or family members from a crash.
• You can learn to not eat in order to lose weight like I'm doing and succeeding at right now because I have a good enough reason.
• You can quit smoking like lots of people do after having a bad smoking experience or thinking about it long and hard for a good reason.
  

Home Business

The perfect job is a home based business that requires little time and effort but is still profitable. The more of these businesses you have from home the more likely you will get a full income every month in the end.
Equation to remember is: Fun=Time/Money
So to have the most fun you need the most time and money possible.
Also another random idea is that if you had a family member or good friend living in each state then you could vacation at each others houses very cheaply, every year. But this might not be the most fun vacation.


Comic book business: Buy at 33% sell at 50%, and for early or key issues buy at 40-70% and sell at 60-100%. But only specialize in the best selling comics like silver age marvel. Which means you will only buy one at a time on ebay instead of in bulk, because in bulk means you'll get lots of other stuff that isn't silver age marvel. Also buy only the ones that are currently flooding the market to get the best price on those comics. (Currently it's spider man that has too many out there and is cheap).
Artist: Go to school and hone your skills to either become a freelance commercial artist or a self made artist. Then sell your stuff on ebay or at a fair.
Firewood selling cheaper than the competition: Just need an electric mauler and a large property.
Become a craftsman: If you can make something from scratch out of wood or clay or metal or anything then you can sell it on ebay one at a time from home. Either auction style or ebay store style. Examples: Fishing lures, pottery, furnishings, art, sculpture, fabrics, gadgets, trinkets.
Writer: Write editorials, or comic strips, or fiction, or real news over the internet.
Make your own food: A penny saved is mathematically the same as a penny earned. This may be a seasonal money saver though.

Inventions for the future

I plan on making these inventions soon but it requires a lot of materials searches which means time. These are all solid state and self powered. Inventions that use physical laws, effects and principles are the best inventions because they never fail.

But they are only theory until tested and proven.

Solar distiller: Has a cone shaped translucent top on top of a shallow pan that holds any distilled liquid, the undistilled or "dirty" liquid is inside of a cup in the middle of the cone enclosure. take cone off and use the liquid left in the pan. Utilizes: Condensation and the greenhouse effect.
Solar heater: Have a glass or acrylic box with a heat absorbent material inside of it like black rocks or cement chunk or whatever. Also have 2 small holes on either side of the enclosure one is the air intake side and one is the air output side. On the air output side you have a tube leading to the house with an on/ off nozzle inside of the house. And even further beyond that on the roof of the house you have a chimney which uses Bernoulli's principle to force air upwards providing the air flow needed to force the hot air inside. Utilizes: Greenhouse effect, heat retention, bernoulli's principle.
Later added: I now think that the better way to make a house now is in the ground or in a mountain as a cave house. This way you never need any air conditioning at all. So instead just use the following invention as a distilled water maker.
Free air conditioning and free distilled water as a biproduct: The simple version for AC only is to have a tube inside of a bucket with both ends leading out of the bucket, then fill the bucket with gravel and then fill with water(the water is a good conductor of heat). Then bury the open lid plastic bucket 10 feet underground. have a mesh cage on the outside end of the tube to keep bugs out, and have the other end of the tube inside the house with an adjustable on/off nozzle. And beyond that there would be a chimney in the roof that uses bernoulli's principle to create the air flow necessary for the underground cooled air to flow into the house.
Later added: I recently revised this invention to only be made of small tubing, which means that it is self draining because as air flows through the thin tube and creates condensation along the way, and the water droplets grow bigger, eventually the water droplets will get big enough to block the air flow in the tube, meaning that the water will be pushed all the way out of the tube by the air flow, and into whatever container you have at the other end.

However, this would always create condensation inside of the tube because of the temperature differential. So to take advantage of this you would have a small container in the bottom of the bucket with the air tube entering and exiting this small distilled water container. As the water collected in this container, being the low point, it would then go into one more tube leading out of the bottom of the distilled water container and up above ground and into another bucket that had an open top which also acted as a chimney, so that when the wind blew the bucket would have a lower air pressure, effectively you are now converting low air pressure into a water pump(like sucking a drink out of a straw). I call this aerodynamic pumping. To pump to greater heights you need a bigger chimney top and a thinner water tube.

Also translating the aerodynamic pumping invention into a way to automatically water plants is fairly straight forward. Once you have built up water pressure it's only deciding what to do with it(automatic sprinkler). Also have an artificially dug storm water retention pond to supply water into perpetuity.
Utilizes: Bernoulli's principle, condensation, stable year round underground temperatures, conduction, artificial pond, aerodynamic pumping

Win / Win Situation

• Trees drop their seeds which the birds happily eat and distribute around in their dropping for the tree.
• Put an add on craigslist saying that you will pick pragnes from the yard of someone in the area for the oranges for yourself but they get free yardwork done for them. This is also good for charity if you were to give the oranges to a food bank.
• Bad idea: Scan 10 comics and make a listing on craigslist saying" I scanned 10 comics and will trade them for one scan of one of your comics" so effectively you will be getting them to scan for you for free and 1 scan times 100 people is 100 comics, but they're happy because they get 10 free scans for the price of one. So effectively it's a win/win situation. This also works for trading free downloads like games or music.
  
• Get free furniture from the side of the road or the news paper or craigslist or garage sales at the end of the day. They're happy to get rid of it, and you're happy to furnish your apartment cheaply. All the thriftstores get it for free, why can't you?
• Home grown strawberries are like a weed and practically grow themselves only requiring watering which can be automatically set up. But they're red all the way through and are 20 times more tasty than store bought strawberries that are manufactured for size not flavor. Also they are free to you when grown, but the store prices now are astronomical. And who eats more than a few pounds of them a few months anyway which is easy to grow in a very small area maybe on the railing on your back porch.
• Buy items at auction price and sell at retail price or any profitable price at a swap meet or at a antique store, or on ebay, or on craigslist at a set price or on ebay at a buy it now after buying it at auction price on craigslist or ebay. This may actually be just a get rich quick scheme like the one red paperclip idea, and not really a win/win situation. If you worked your way up to buying and selling "car like" items at a profit then you could easily get rich, or at least make a living. Maybe do collectible coins or another specialty like rare comics, for comics to sell at a buy it now it needs to be the best of the best for them to pay top dollar.
  

Direction of your new life

If you have 10,000$ you can start a hole new life for yourself leaving all liabilities and obligations behind and live your life the way you've always wanted to.
You can either buy a camper van for $10,000, or a boat or a piece of land in alaska or somewhere else.

If you bought a piece of land in Alaska then you could build a house for free from logs and then grow or pick food for free and fish and hunt for free and store food for the winter in the natural outside refrigerator, and smoke them in the summer. But there are almost no rules in Alaska and the land is cheap, and you can go on all the nature walks you want, and you get paid to own the land each year by the permanent distribution fund. The only problem with owning property is that you have to pay taxes and you may have to pay a mortgage for 30 years if you're stupid enough to get that big of a loan which you'll never pay off. Also it may get very boring after a while of staying on the same property forever and not going to work or doing anything for fun outside of your property.
The positive side of buying a peice of land and living on it is that it is the correct financial decision. Lets say you were to buy it for 10,000$ and live in a mobile home or a van or even a car for a year. You would be saving 500$ a month on rent payments which at the end of the year is 60% return on investment of 10,000$, assuming you have a job. If I buy a 10,000$ piece of land in Florida the first thing I would do after buying it would be to install free water, free food, and free electricity. After that you could live indefinitely.
Free water: Dig a storm water retention pond the same way they do at every walmart. all it is is a topological low point that had been dug out of the earth and which water naturally flows into being the lowest point around. The nice added benefit of this is that somehow fish appear after a short period of time in these places. Don't ask me how(maybe birds bring them). These manmade ponds are filled with water year round which is interesting why the utilities don't use this principle when supplying the water to the city. Why is there always a drought supposedly when this is easy enough to do? Are they really smart or really stupid? Maybe I missed something.
Free food: Most plants grow themselves, so just capitalize on this fact. Have tomatoes hanging from a fence so there is no weeding needed but need watering. Onions grow like grass. strawberries also grow like weeds but need watering. potatoe plants are easy once they're started just cut into pieces with the eyes facing upward in the ground. But if you want to get rich, another of my plans was to become rich by becoming an electrician and then moving to Alaska and buying all the land I wanted and doing with that land whatever I wanted, and having plenty of money left over every month to live the good life. That's only as long as you have no kids and no huge mortgage though. The best land to buy would be an island because it's not landlocked(you can get to it on boat, and therefor not in the middle of nowhere). It's always good to live outside the system and not under other peoples rules or competing with others that are all doing the same thing. Namely all the throngs that go to school, work for most of their waking lives, buy a house and have kids, and live in the city, and pay taxes and are generally poor and c average education.

How To Get A Free 50 in. TV

I recently did price comparisons at circuit city and ebay and walmart, and it turns out that circuit city prices are still the highest prices around even with them supposedly marked down 30%. I looked at games(all systems), TV's, entertainment centers, sound systems, computers. So the following is not usable information.
Circuit city is going out of business. So when the TV's are marked down to 50% off then you buy 2 of them and sell one of them on ebay, effectively getting one of the tv's for free. But to make sure that is sells for full price on ebay you should buy the best of the best. Luckily though the best of the best which is also the most expensive is the last item that sells in the store. Because I was noticing at circiut city that the small tv's and the cheapest good tv's were the first to sell out so far. But they still have plenty of the huge and high performance tv's. And they will be there until the end when the prices are marked down the most.
This is why it's always good to have a reserve of liquid oportunity investment cash lying around for just such an occasion as this.
This is a high risk proposition so you have to have a high profit margin to balance the risk. It may be possible to loose some money even if not much, so you need a high profit margin just in case.
An added side effect of doing this is that if you use a credit card to buy a tv and sell it on ebay for what you bought it at, then you are basically turning credit into cash.
As they say everything must go and people like me are the scavengers taking advantage of the left over scraps of a dying business, like a vulture in the african wilderness.

Free Cable

I found out at work today that there are devices out there that you can buy that hook up to any satellite dish and also only need a flash drive for some reason. But it uses a pirated code that you get with the product or on the products website. Then you hook up the system and it will give you every channel that the "direct tv" company has including premium channels like HBO. Also you can program out certain channels if you have children present. And I also still need to research the laws against this if anyone ever found out. But they wouldn't unless they illegally searched your house or you just told everyone about it. But if it's only a fine then it would definitely be worth it to save money on that monthly bill.
So I know a place now nearby that has it supposedly, and it costs about 100$. So as soon as I buy it I will let you know the companies name and where to get it online and there site and stuff.

UPDATE: Also all new flat screen TV's are built with HDMI input's which you hook your computer up to and it shows on the TV what you see on the internet. This is free cable if you have a site that has TV shows on it. Even if you need to click on buttons with a mouse rather than with a remote it's just like checking your email daily or video on demand. just click the on demand show that is a new episode on the internet instead of watching reruns on TV. And if you have free wifi in your apartment then that's totally free television.

The new "Google android" hand held device will cost 150$ and no plan is needed to buy it and it has wifi capability which when you're in any wifi signal area you can go onto the internet or make a phone cal for free. This will supposedly replace the iphone and maybe even the cell phone itself.

Digital Car Trips

Go to google maps and input a city. Then zoom in as close as possible and it will come up with a "street view" 3 dimensional image as if you were sitting in a car. then just go traveling.
The only problem is that this is in only U.S. cities so far. and even then only in some of those places on the map. So it is still in the process of being completed for everywhere on earth. But I just went on a car trip to anchorage Alaska the other day and never had to leave the comfort of my couch. start at E cook ave if you can't think of a starting place.
I once thought that someday this would make a good video game. Well here it is.

Drive-By-Wire, AC Induction Motor, Ultra-Capacitor, GPS

Steer by wire is where you make one tire spin faster than the other in order to steer. This eliminates any mechanical connections that ICE's(internal combustion engines) have to use. This is achieved by having a separate electric motor inside of each wheel. Also you can add four wheel drive for more traction on slippery roads.

Steer-by-wire (A.K.A. Drive-by-wire) is:

• More energy efficient
• Less maintenance(almost none)
• Reprogrammable for different steering preferences.
• Can also be 4 wheel drive
  

The AC induction motor was invented by Nicola Tesla, and is still the best electric motor to this day. It has the highest torque of any electric motor, in fact even higher torque than a Ferrari's ICE(See:Tesla roadster). It's maintenance free because it has no commutator. Is energy efficient, due to it going faster and further than any other motor hooked to the same battery.

The AC induction motor is:

• The highest torque motor
• The most energy efficient motor
• Maintenance free
• Except it still needs AC energy to operate, which makes a complicated circuit that's hard for an amature to build. But it's still a solid state circuit(no moving parts) and shouldn't break when built right.

The ultra-capacitor made by EEStor will hopefully be made by 2009. The smartest people in the world are investing in it. If this technology is made then it will replace gasoline. We would charge it at night like a cell phone, and it would store enough energy to go 250 miles on a single charge and at 80 MPH.

Ultra capacitors are:

• Solid state(will outlast you)
• Most efficient conversion of energy into moving a car
• Able to go further and faster than a car if you add more capacitors
• Lighter weight than any battery
• Able to hold more energy than any battery
• Made of non-toxic eco-friendly(green) materials
• Would also be the portable energy source of everything in the future

GPS is good for finding direction, but can also replace old fashioned speedometers(See: speedometers on wiki). They work as a speedometer by updating location ever second for a more accurate speedometer than the electronic or mechanical speedometers. But they also can be made as solid state and built into the car. Also they will be cheap one day if they're in every future car that is eventually going to the junk yard.

GPS is:

• A better speedometer
• Solid state(won't break)
• Extremely cheap one day
• A replacement for maps
• Low energy usage
• Programmable
• Cheap soon
  

But in reality we still need to get beyond using cars. Because cars need an infrastructure of roads, which are not eco-friendly.

Helicopters are the way of the distant future when we finally invent an easy to use and build version of one. The only moving parts in a helicopter are the rotors(rotors may need to be tilted in some designs). Making an electric helicopter should be possible with Ultra capacitors. When you need to get from point A, to point B, there's no more need to ask for directions because you just go in a straight line there(B-line?). Also with drive-by-wire(All electric, programmable controls) it may be easier to program the controls so an average Joe can learn to fly a helicopter. Also no more need for infrastructure like roads or even runways. The only thing to worry about is down drafts in certain weather conditions. On the billions being spent on public mass transit infrastructure, you could instead spend it all on a fleet of helicopters.

Helicopter's are:

• Very time efficient when travelling on a schedule
• In no need of any infrastructure(make them now, use them now)
• Easy to navigate
• Possibly capable of having the controls programmable, so that anyone can drive-by-wire
• Maintenance free except for rotor bearings
• Not good when you need to watch out for down drafts, and other crash hazards.
  

Religious Rituals Are Torturous

Here are just some thoughts on religion that may or may not make you question your belief, or even affirm your disbelief. Good questions are highlighted.

Why torture yourself?
It is a fact that most humans, except for some smart people in educated society, like to torture themselves. Most religions, if not all, must be made up or are false religions, this is the reality which is proven by there being so many different religions out there.
While watching the show "tribal rights"(on travel channel), you see what kind of futile work and stress go into every differing ritual. Did god intend us to suffer for him forever? Is god a sadomasochist?
Why not focus on living life rather than getting stressed out about religious predictions about the end of the world? You can always build a fallout shelter to put your mind at ease, if you're falling for holy rollers predictions.
Why create a split personality called "god" which is actually -you telling yourself- what you can and cannot do?
Some religions make you do constant prayer, others require constant memorization of religious manuscripts, others make you sing in church even when you don't feel like it, others make you do back exercises while sitting on your knees until they hurt, others make you perform long drawn out rituals of chanting and magical gestures, that make absolutely no sense in the real world, others make you want to "settle" into war torn areas like the Gaza strip and live there, others make you bathe in dirty human bacteria infested water, others make you repent all of your sins because someone must be watching you 24 hours a day just to see every fart you deal.
Is god a voyeurist?
What if eating was illegal in heaven, we would say "well god probably wouldn't keep us from eating, because that's unreasonable". Therefor in every ritual we tell ourselves that we're still allowed to eat. In the end it is just us telling ourselves what we think that any of the gods of the world would most likely think is reasonable for us to do. In other words we're telling ourselves what we think, god thinks, instead of him telling us personally.
I guess mass murder of animals is a good thing in heaven, so that we can still eat, except if the animal being killed is a human.
Wouldn't a real god see the flaw in this logic of letting us hear by word of mouth and our own imagination what god wants us to do? Wouldn't he rescue every wrong religion from torturing themselves by just coming out and saying what the real rules were? Instead of letting us torture ourselves and each other for the rest of eternity.
Maybe the lack of god interfering with us is one of the best pieces of evidence that he doesn't exist.
If god or gods decide who wins wars, then why do we as humans ever have to try to win the wars.
If god or gods decide everything that will ever happen then why do we ever try in general. Animals never try, but it's said that they don't have a god.
Why make offerings to the gods, can't they just take what they need by themselves? Also when we do offer money or other things to the gods, how do we know how much to offer to the gods and if the priest is or isn't skimming some off the top?
Why are all religions possible in spiritualism, but the thought of there being no god is the one impossibility?
Naturally humans will always tend to torture themselves to the maximum of reasonable limits.
But then again there are every few years a new religious cult that forces mass suicide. Even with rituals that unreasonable it still happens.
Is there a special heaven for stupid people?
Why praise the lord? Is he so insecure that we need to keep telling him that he's great, and giving him moral support? Maybe, in some small way, we just - sort of selfishly - want something in return for praising him.

R - Value In Alaska

The wiki page I got this info from was"R-Value (insulation)" which is otherwise called heat resistivity. Not to be confused with U-Value which is otherwise called heat retention.

The best spray foam is Closed cell polyurethane spray foam. And a close 2nd is open cell polyurethane spray foam. These are all better than wood as an insulator

The following R-values are average per inch, based on available results:

Straw Bales: R-1.45
Wood Panels: R-2.5
Open Cell Polyurethane Spray Foam: R-3.6
Closed Cell Polyurethane Spray Foam: R-5.5
Silica Aerogel: R-10 (Best possible insulation for a window material. Hope it's available someday on the mass market.)

So if living in Alaska it would be wise to spend a tiny bit more to use spray foam in your cabin instead of wood. Spray foam is also easier to work with and can be sprayed onto a geodesic dome, with shingled plastic for water proofing utilizing "grip clips". The floor of cabins in Alaska are often dirt floors, but before installing any type of floor, just prevent flooding of a that floor in the geodesic dome, by halfway burying a solid water barrier material sheet around the perimeter of the dome.

You could also add heat retention(A.K.A. U-Value) to the already well insulated structure by putting moss or dirt on top of the geodesic dome. This is free, and only adds to the insulation quality, and also the natural woodsy look. But just spray foam or air foam should be enough insulation. And fire proof it all with a stucco coating.

Most cabins in Alaska are very small also because of the hassle of collecting more wood to heat bigger sized cabins. So a small one room cabin is normal in Alaska which means the cost of spray foam would be minimal, from such a small surface area to be insulated. Just be sure to make a sturdy geodesic dome out of hardwood(bamboo?) or metal bars so that the house can't collapse ever.

But there's nothing stopping you from making the same type of house in Florida with a total construction cost of about 300$. In other words anything that they do in Alaska to live independently can also be done anywhere else in the U.S.. But you would have to consider an outhouse and how to clean clothes. I discuss all of these considerations in my post called "permanent fort or camp". Also other posts are useful in constructing an independent homestead like the artificial aquifer post, and also earlier posts like the utopia now post, for info on an ideal community(Which is not possible). Or my old version of an independent homestead was the utopia list post, for more personal independence ideas, however outdated they are. But for diagrams of devices go to "New house design pics".

An Unbreakable Code Or Encription

There are large scale public encryption systems for things like telephones, but then there are small scale encryption forms that are totally unbreakable. Either for top secret need to know basis conditions, or just for fun as a novelty for any kids in the family that want to play spy games.

I will focus on useful small scale encryption because not many people control an entire populations communication technology.

The first types of encryption were simple "substitution, transposition cryptography" Here's a cryptanalysis link that explains these types of encryption in more detail. These types of cryptography use "keys" which are written on a paper to be given to the person who will receive the encoded messages. The paper looks like blocks of letters and numbers written on a piece of paper, they now use up to 64 blocks in all, as the entire key which is harder to solve. But this form of encryption is still beatable by computers.

The kryptos statue at the CIA uses the above system in part of the statue, and all of those messages in the statue have already been decoded. But in the last coded section of the staute there are too little characters to find a proper key to figure out the message. I think that in this last section it uses the following type of key for encryption, which the creator has stored in a secret location, maybe even burried somewhere to never be possible to be deciphered.

The one type of encryption that can never be cracked by a computer though is very simple. Get a book of any kind, there have been hundreds of millions of books written out there, so this shouldn't be hard. Then on each page under the page number you write a message in the margins or you highlight words or a word on that page. That is your key and to decipher it you get the page number or title or topic of the page sent in a message and then turn to that page and decode the entire message repeating that step. And because it is a unique copy of that book which exists nowhere else in the universe, then the only way to decrypt the message is with that unique book alone. This idea came from the show "Prison break" that had the bird book. simple but effective.

Also when making a password for any website I find it easiest to remember and create if I put 2 words together that don't normally go together and then put a number somewhere in the password sequence. Any password no matter what it is can still be cracked by a computer, but unless you are a prime target like a rich person or an elected official then they usually won't come after you. Just never give out any personal info in emails no matter where the email says it's from. Because companies never ask for personal info in emails.

The Free Store

This is an old idea that was first seen in the hippie movement at the summer of love. But I wonder if it is ever possible to make it work.

Things are cheaper when they are mass produced, but this requires big expensive machinery and infrastructure. Therefore individuals don't ever invest large amounts of money into these complex machines to get something for free later on. Only large businesses do, because they're in it for the profit.

Services would never be free but "goods" can be free indefinitely after the initial up front investment in machinery or equipment that makes them.

So hopefully if nice people would either donate equipment or money for equipment, then someday we may have a "free store" in every neighborhood. Some businesses sometimes donate things like old doughnut machines for free, that they don't want anymore, as long as you take it off of there hands. But then you also have to take on the task of refurbishing it.

Some examples of things that are free after you own the equipment are:

(1)Rain water sanitized by a UV tube and solar panels, or distilled by a heating element and solar panels.

(2)Ice from the store is free if you have an electric ice maker hooked up to solar power.

(3)Wood can be free from fallen trees in a nearby forest that you can get admitted into for collecting free wood. But always be sure that the forest is big enough for the population size, so that you don't deplete national resources.

(4)Solar charging stations for electric cars when the new ultra-capacitor tech comes out in 2009(from zenn cars). Also electric cars have almost zero maintenance and last longer than normal cars from less moving parts. So driving could be essentially free one day. And you wouldn't even need to buy a rental car for trips, from no worries of yours breaking down.

(5)Some foods can be free if they're planted behind the store. Plant foods such as: Black berries, strawberries, blueberries, fruit trees (in there natural climate:apple/banana). veggies: cucumber squash, lettuce herbs, potatoes, onions. All of these foods require almost no maintenance and practically grow themselves, and last for years or forever without needing replanting. Cider can be free if you bring in old apples that are fallen off of a tree and then the machine presses out the juice and pasteurizes it. Same with apple sauce. And dried fruit can also be manufactured for free if you brought in the fruit to be dried. Frozen french fries could also be made free, from a machine out of free potatoes that the customer brought in. You can make many full sized potato plants out of only one potato by just cutting up the potato and its eyes into sections and planting.

(6)Recycling plant to make free paper products and free plastic products, and maybe even free metal products. After people have separated out their garbage into different material piles, then the trash collectors, from the free store, pick it up for free.

(7)Chemicals that are automated to produce are distilled alcohol, and caustic soda/"drano" from electrolysis of salt water. You just need the equipment and the solar panels. Hydrogen and oxygen and chlorine can also be made in this way.

(8)Free wifi internet connection in the store. That's normal for businesses these days though.

(9)You could have free video and game rentals if you bought them at their marked price with real money, and then you can return them at any time as long as you still have the receipt. And these things are donated to the store originally. This is the same thing that modern libraries do really, which is just as good. But the clerks work off of the tips from every bought video.

(10) Yeast can be made into a colony that lasts indefinitely, and as long as you have flour(which is cheap) then you can make infinite bread out of one batch of yeast, with a solar powered bread factory.

We may not have everything done for us for free anytime soon but gradually as new technology is developed then more things will be produced for free, by machines, for us. It's just a matter of putting those machines in public possession instead of corporate possession. What's the good of brand name anymore anyway when HP and Dell printers have their printers engineered with planned obsolescence and are loosing face because of the ink cartridge chip scam that they never told anyone about.

How To Collect Video Games

If you choose to collect video games as a hobby to pass the time, either to play them or to just keep the unopened copies nailed to the wall as works of art, then here are some tips to keep in mind, since I've been down that road before.

I now only buy rare games for my brother for Christmas and his B-day, and occasionally buy them to sell later on ebay for a profit. What you want to do is be professional about it, by going to all of the game publisher sites that you know of, and read all of the news, or press releases of that company in order to get hot tips on special editions, or one time special offers, or where you can get a signature from a creator, at an event. Getting game news online is better than getting news from a gaming magazine, because you're not looking for mass market games but instead the diamond in the ruff, that nobody knows about. And also the internet has infinite information to look through, from every lesser known company, to harder to find news articles.

But the bread and butter of the collector would be to search for any limited edition games that any particular publisher has in stock. But don't worry if it isn't in stock because often when an online publisher's store (such as capcom.com) is out of stock of the limited edition, there is usually a lag time before the other "indirect" online retailers of the same limited edition game(i.e. bestbuy.com, walmart.com, target.com)run out of the game. Also they sell it at the same price as the publisher sells it at. The following link is a good site for seeing all of the other online retailers of games, for when the games are either out of stock at the brick and mortar stores, or out of stock on the publishers site. It's also always a good idea to estimate how many copies of the game were produced, to check for rarity, before buying, by seeing how long it was in print, and how many retail stores carried the game. For example limited editions usually have a production run of only a few months, while the regular editions of the same game have a production run of potentially years. But the true holy grail video games only have 100 or less copies made of them and are either won in a contest or are one of a kind test cartridges or were never released. Also sometimes games are only available online at various sites, or sometimes as a "gamestop.com" online exclusive, making them instantly rare. "Panesian" was a mail ordered company back in the day, with only a small market that actually bought the games. So it's best to buy new games that are rare and to just hold onto them in a collection, or until the Christmas season after they went out of print, to sell on ebay, when demand is high.

But I'd say that video games are a very safe investment because of the fact that even if they don't go up in value, you can always get out of the game what you originally invested into it, as long as the game is still in unopened condition. But for used video game collecting, I always go to a nearby "gamestop/ebgames" store after looking at game prices on ebay and memorizing them. Because I usually find at least one "used" and rare game at gamestop that is worth more on ebay than they're selling it for at the gamestop/ebgames store. Also the true genius of "gamestop" is shown by how you can buy a used game at their stores and return them within 1 week, essentially offering a free videogame rental. I'm surprised that the actual videogame rental stores haven't gone out of business yet.

When selling on ebay complete sets usually sell for full price, and are more sure of selling on the first auction. There are 2 reasons for this: (1) When you have multiple items in an auction(such as a match set of etrian odyssey I &II both in unopened condition, and their strategy guides also) there is less shipping and handling costs per item since they're all in one auction. This makes the customer happy and more willing to pay full price. And (2) A complete set is always more collectible especially in good condition and 100% complete. There are lots of rich people out there that have their own personal museum at home of their favorite collectible, and only want the best of the best, not to mention actual museums. And because of the demand going up, from the competition between these collectors on your 1 of a kind auction, the price goes up.
